A Great Disc-overy!

Spinal Decompression

Each of us is in a constant battle…with gravity! A frequent casualty is the soft disc material that separates each spinal bone. Pressure from our weight, trauma from an accident and other causes can increase the pressure on a weakened disc. In extreme cases, the soft pulpy center of the disc can escape and can be quite painful.

Lumbar and Cervical Decompression is a non-surgical therapy based on the principle of a highly sophisticated spinal traction, and is excellent for herniated discs, spinal stenosis and degenerative disc disease. Since discs are constantly under weight-bearing pressure, they can be slow to heal. By gently ‘stretching’ your spine using a specific angle, weight and time, spinal decompression can help relieve pressure on the spinal joints.

Our patients report Lumbar and Cervical Decompression therapy to be quite pleasant, soothing and relaxing. Each sequence helps the damaged disc receive nourishment, expel cellular waste and enjoy reduced pressure. In turn, this process enables healing to begin.

While not a cure-all, our decompression table is highly effective, especially when combined with chiropractic care. Our experience shows that decompression can be especially helpful in supporting cases prone to frequent relapses.
