Moist Heat Therapy

Moist Heat TherapyAt Wasserman Chiropractic, one of the most traditional and familiar forms of treating patients suffering from long-term spasms or irritation involves the use of superficial heat. During this process, hot packs and warm moist towels are used to help raise the temperature of soft tissues and enlarge blood vessels directly below the surface of the skin.

In addition to relaxing tense or irritated muscle tissue and providing temporary pain relief, the use of heat therapy has proven to be instrumental in:

  • Relaxing and calming muscle-tissue.
  • Reducing muscle spasms and irritation.
  • Enhancing flexibility and range-of-motion.
  • Increasing circulation.
  • Alleviating joint stiffness.
  • Preparing soft tissue for chiropractic adjustments.
